COUCH TO 5K BEGINNER’S RUNNING CLASS
Walk-Jog-Run: A 10-Week Series from February 2 through April 5.
Saturday Mornings at 8:00 a.m.
Meet at the entrance of the Y Cafe near the front desk of the Tacoma Center YMCA, 1144 Market Street.
This is a class for new exercisers or new runners designed to get you in shape, gently and gradually in a supportive environment, in time for the Y Run for Kids 5K (3.1 mile) run. If you have ever wanted to jog or run but have never done so, this class is for you. YOU CAN DO IT!
The focus of each outing will be on aerobic base building and an incremental transition from walking or jogging to moderately paced running. There will be no wind sprints or lung-searing intervals.
Class will be held outdoors, rain or shine, except in the case of seriously inclement weather, in which case we will use the indoor track.
